1. Agreement
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated in connection with Gander Labs. CEBL Fantasy League is not affiliated with the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), Basketball Canada, or their respective licensors. References to teams, players, and league names are for identification and fantasy gameplay only.
2. The Service
CEBL Fantasy League provides online fantasy basketball-style games and related features (leagues, drafts, rosters, scoring, forums, chat, optional AI tools, and optional paid “Premium” features). We may add, change, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.
Entertainment only. The Service is for entertainment. It does not constitute gambling, sports betting, or an offer of prizes regulated as gaming in your jurisdiction unless expressly stated otherwise in writing. Statistics and rankings are provided for fun and competition among users.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live (typically 18+ in many jurisdictions) and not barred from using the Service under applicable law. You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, defame, or harm other users, or post unlawful, hateful, or obscene content.
- Attempt to cheat, exploit bugs, scrape, or automate the Service in a way that impairs others or bypasses limits.
- Upload malware, probe systems without authorization, or interfere with the Service’s operation.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or impersonate the CEBL, teams, or public figures.
- Use the Service in violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or take other moderation steps for violations or risk to the community, subject to any appeal process we publish.
5. Stats, scoring, and third-party data
Player and game statistics may come from third-party sources or feeds. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Fantasy points, ranks, and projections are calculated according to rules shown in the Service and may change if we correct errors or update formulas. You accept results as displayed by the Service after any stated correction windows.
6. Premium and payments
Optional paid features are processed by our payment partner (Stripe). Fees, renewal terms, and cancellation are shown at checkout and in your billing settings where available. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew until cancelled in accordance with Stripe and the options we provide. Refunds are handled case by case where required by law or at our discretion; chargebacks may result in loss of access.
7. Intellectual property
The Service’s software, design, and branding (except third-party marks) are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial entertainment. You retain rights in content you create (for example forum posts); you grant us a license to host, display, and process that content to operate the Service.
8. Third-party services
The Service may link to or integrate Discord, payment providers, email, AI APIs, and other services. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, AND EMPLOYEES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $50), EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these Terms or creates risk. Provisions that by nature should survive (for example disclaimers, limitations, and dispute provisions) will survive termination.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario for disputes, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice (for example by email or banner). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by law.
